The Region of Niagara is currently working on updating their Official Plan. This plan was last updated in 1970. The directors of the Niagara Federation of Agriculture have been working with the Region of Niagara highlighting the importance of the agriculture industry and encouraging the Region to make changes that will have a positive impact on the industry. The last public consultations for the Official Plan are listed below. There is also a list of links to 2020 recordings and presentations.

The directors of the Niagara Federation of Agriculture encourage you to register for one of the upcoming virtual public information meetings listed below concerning the changes to the upcoming new Niagara Official Plan. In many ways this plan may affect how we farm in the future in Niagara.

Virtual Public Information Centres – New Niagara Official Plan

A series of virtual public information centres have been scheduled to present and discuss more about key draft policy directives and core policy content that is intended to be part of the Niagara Official Plan. Updates on other key sections of the official plan will also be provided.
